An overloaded calendar of activities has kept the sprawling South Central Zone Cultural Centre buzzing with events over the last one year. With a makeover done in September last year, the Centre has been making news for all the right reasons in the cultural circles and has emerged as a favourite venue for all kinds of art, theatre and music related activities.
The Centre has also been the venue for musical shows and theatre presentations by city groups over the past few months. Now a summer camp for kids is being held there. Radio jockey Milind Patil, who is organising this camp, says that the venue adds value to the activity. "Over the last two years, cultural activities at SCZCC have seen a tremendous increase.
Aims and Objectives
To develop and promote the rich diversity and uniqueness of various arts of the Zone and upgrade and enrich consciousness to the people about their cultural heritage. To lay special emphasis in its activities on the linkage among various areas through evolution of style and their contribution to the larger composite identity of cultural heritage of India.
News and Events
The stage at the South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) will get a very innovative look during this year's Orange City Craft Mela and Folk Dance Festival set to begin from December 1. Tribal huts from the five states - Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh - will adorn the stage.
